Anyone who has bought off-plan in Cairo knows the story: the handover date moves, then the finishing takes longer, and in the meantime you've already left your old place. It's one of the most common reasons people call us.
Plan for the date to slip
Whatever date the developer gave you, plan your storage around a later one. Monthly storage means you're not locked in if things go faster — but you won't be scrambling if they don't.
What to store and what to keep with you
- Store: furniture, appliances, kitchen boxes, out-of-season clothes, décor.
- Keep with you: documents, jewellery, medicines, laptops and anything you'll need weekly.
- Think twice about: very old furniture you were going to replace anyway.
Don't move in during finishing
It's tempting to bring furniture to the new flat early. Plaster dust, paint and workers moving ladders around are hard on sofas and wooden pieces. Leave everything in storage until the painting is done and the floors are finished.

On the day you finally move
Give us a call a day or two ahead so we're ready, book your truck for the morning, and bring the list of what's in each box. If you packed by room, unloading at the new place takes half the time.
